Responsibilities:
- Servicing the larger accounts including monitoring and handling of all HPR Engineering matters;
- Conducts HPR Engineering surveys for the larger and most complex risks;
- Responsible for the analysis and servicing of highly protected risks through risk selection evaluation and the development/maintenance of a profitable client base;
- Develop complete and accurate inspection reports in accordance with HPR Engineering procedures;
- Analyze sprinkler protection, water supply, site supervision, warehousing, flood exposure, and any other special hazards as required;
- Prepare written report outlining all potential hazards, along with HPR diagram for all bound risks;
- Prepare loss prevention report outlining recommended actions to minimize hazards;
- Prepare probable maximum loss (PML) and normal loss expectancy (NLE) estimates, including all applicable coverages;
- Manage all HPR Engineering matters on assigned accounts; and
- Manage the handling of plan review requests.

Requirements:
- Typically 5-7 years experience in HPR Engineering (insurance experience preferred);
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- In depth knowledge of HPR Engineering standards and methods of analyzing hazards;
- Professional Engineer (PE, Fire Protection) designation desirable;
- Must be proficient in the use of computers. Skill in the use of Lotus Notes databases, MS Excel and Word documents are also necessary;
- Previous experience in the insurance industry is preferable;
- Must have a valid driver's license. Company car will be provided;
- Applicant must be physically fit to be able to climb ladders, inspect roofs, and travel in company car for extended lengths of time; and
- Some overnight travel should be expected (up to 30%), no matter where the position resides.

Description:

This position will manage the desgn and construction department for a special hazard and fire alarm systms contractor. Oversight of all design, perform hydraulic calculations, review drawings for submittal. Direct contact with end-users, contractors and code authorities will be required. Overview and management of the financial aspects of the department in conjunction with the company controller will also be a key role. The company will provide training for specific manufacturers products and calculation softwares. Drawings will require stamps as required by local codes. Involvement in project design in conjunction with our sales staff and the end-user will be expected. Some specific sales marketing of our services will be required from time to time.
